Specimens you can donate come in many forms, including:
- Small skin biopsies
- and more.
Specimens are collected by trained and qualified healthcare professionals in appropriate institutions, or you can take specimens at home using the containers we provide. Before agreeing to donate your specimen, you can discuss the collection and ask any questions you may have. You will get an information booklet with detailed description of the required specimen collection process, any follow-up care or return visits if necessary, and details of applicable inconvenience.
Once the specimen is taken, it gets a unique code. This code will be shared with researchers along with some basic information about you (age, gender, ethnicity), health (or disease) and any current medications or treatments. The information will not include your name, date of birth, address, or any other information that could allow researchers to identify you. You participate anonymously and your details are completely confidential.
